The core team

Shortly after the announcement of the competition for the Solar Decathlon Europe 2021 in Wuppertal, a group of students of different fields of study from the HFT Stuttgart started to work on the application for the SDE21. Since then, the core team has been organized independently by students of the HFT Stuttgart and has grown continuously. The core team made it possible for the HFT Stuttgart to participate in the Solar Decathlon Europe 2021. With the support of professors and employees of the HFT Stuttgart, the team was able to submit the application for the SDE21 successfully.

Since May 2019, the team has been meeting on a weekly basis to exchange information, discuss challenges and tasks, and work on the ongoing development of the coLLab project. Despite the current COVID19 restrictions, these meetings continue to take place weekly and have been held online ever since. This situation only slightly affects the quality of the work and is optimally compensated for by the use of alternative media. In addition to the meetings, the course specific groups also consult with each other several times a week.

The special feature of the coLLab project is that all the resources of the HFT Stuttgart are to be used for working on the project. In more than 10 elective or compulsory subjects from a wide range of disciplines, the project will be integrated into the curriculum as early as this summer semester 2020. This interdisciplinarity of the project shall be maintained and extended in the future.  The main task of the core team is to coordinate and accompany the process of these courses. Furthermore, the core team supports and advises the students and teachers of the courses and is represented by at least one person in many of these subjects. This ensures communication between the courses with the associated students, professors and staff of the HFT Stuttgart. The results of these diverse subjects are then documented, summarized and finalized by the core team and submitted as the so-called "deliverables" to the SDE21 organizers in Wuppertal.
The entire process of the project will be shown to the public through the social media channels managed by the core team, as well as through specially organized events in the future.

The core team will accompany the project until the competition in Wuppertal 2021, meet the challenges of the Solar Decathlon 2021 and continuously work on the possibility of enabling ecological, energy-efficient and sustainable urban life.
