Simulation Tools & Solar Heating and Cooling - SuSe 20

In more than 10 subjects, this semester the HFT Stuttgart starts to work on topics of the Solar Decathlon Europe 2021, including design, structural engineering, interior design, urban mobility, building services engineering and many more. The good cooperation of these different disciplines is inevitable in order to create a well thought-out, comprehensive project. Let us coLLab!

In the elective courses Simulation Tools and Solar Heating and Cooling students work on the development of a technology concept.

First of all, the extension and the existing building are thermally simulated and optimised using passive measures. This results in recommendations for the implementation of the design, which are passed on to the team in the elective subject Design and Construction. The heating and cooling requirements are thus kept as low as possible. Different systems to cover the demand are investigated. The favourites are in turn integrated into the simulation and checked for functionality.

The aim of the subject is to create a sustainable technology concept for the existing building, the extension and the demonstration unit.
