Urban Mobility Concept - SuSe 20
In more than 10 subjects, this semester the HFT Stuttgart starts to work on topics of the Solar Decathlon Europe 2021, including design, structural engineering, interior design, urban mobility, building services engineering and many more. The good cooperation of these different disciplines is inevitable in order to create a well thought-out, comprehensive project. Let us coLLab!
In the subject Urban Mobility Concept, students of the Bachelor of Infrastructure Management and Bachelor of Civil Engineering work together on the development of a mobility concept. This is to be developed taking into account the extension concept for the SDE21, but also the overall mobility on the inner city campus. The goals are to reduce automobile traffic in the quarter and at the same time maintain the same flexibility and mobility for the residents.
The process is divided into 3 work steps. First, boundary conditions and basics and the necessary data are determined. This includes, for example, the determination of existing paths and chains of paths, traffic flows, the urban planning framework and the traffic situation in the quarter. Among other things, these basics are determined via a survey. This is followed by the creation of an innovative mobility concept that is as energy self-sufficient as possible.
For processing, 5 groups will be formed to deal with different main uses with regard to the mobility mode and the different mobility purposes. The mobility modes considered are pedestrian, bicycle, public and car traffic as well as the traffic of (temporarily) mobility-impaired persons. The results of the groups then form a basis and contribute to the development of a mobility concept for SDE21.
